It seems that in the very short history that blogs have under their belt a form for creating a blog has emerged. And the most obvious part of this formula is the obligatory first post that describes what the blog is about, and how it is going to change the world. As you can tell from the title of this blog "Disregard as Trash," it sets out to do nothing. This blog is more for myself at this point in time. My life is going to be so crazy over the next 3 years with a new kid, graduate school and moving to China that I wanted a record of how I managed the next three years.
Basically I am into 3 things right now. First and foremost is Michelle, and the upcoming addition to our family being our baby daughter that will be born in the next 2 months. Second will be Grad school. Being accepted to the IMBA program at the University of South Carolina was one of the greatest things that I have experienced in my life so far, and I can't wai to begin. The last thing that will garner attention in this blog are video games. I love me some gaming. It is what I do in my free time. It will be interesting to see how a gamer like myself will balance their time with a family, and grad school, and still stay up on all the goodness that is gaming.
One thing that has really gotten me lately has been people who think that men like myself should grow up and stop playing video games. I read an article today that says that men like myself live in a constant state of near adolescence and refuse to grow up. Will I think that people like that should find the nearest cliff and start running around it with a blindfold on. Video games are such an amazing piece of art. Most people outside of this lifestyle just have no clue at how expresive video games can be. Well I will get off my soapbox now. Till my next post See Ya

Well I am happy I made it on your blog already. :) And it will be interesting to see just how gaming will fit into your life the next coming years.
Take it from a law school wife survivor...you just make time for the games. it will probably interfere with your mommy/daddy time because it's not that easy to play games with a kid in your arms. Daniel always mananged to though. he didn't get an Xbox until the second year we were there. That's precisely when he started ignoring me..so good luck Collin's wife! It's not all bad though because that's when you ask them things like So I bought some new shoes today. And I accidently went over on our checking account again. If you do it just right then they don't even hear. Just bring them a drink and some chips and they'll just think you're a sweetheart.
Good luck Collin. you'r a freakin' genius I'm sure you'll do well at all your true loves.
i appreciate the inagural post, i did one myself and the first thing i do when i see someone elses blog is check their very first post!
